The last stop of our 1-week USA trip was Washington. Our impression: clean, spacious, worth to visit! Beautiful weather and friendly people.

My wife Sophie and I were looking forward to the second live game we could watch during our week in USA, and this was again a difficult opponent. Despite a real Tiger fight our brave Tigers were not able to finish the game with the points in their hands. But boy, what was the atmosphere positive and heart-warming! The day before the game we were screaming the Tigers women’s volleyball team towards a 3-2 win, and we had a lot of fun together with a big part of the soccer team! We really enjoyed being around, and it was nice to meet the other players from around the world. With my contribution, photos from the game, I hope I can give the people at home an idea about the blood, sweat and tears that the coaches and team members put in the game. All parents can be proud about the achievements of this team!!

Saturday 14th of October my wife Sophie and I arrived in Cleveland, Ohio, and Sunday 15th of October we saw the first live game of the Salem International Tigers with our son Sjoerd Schobbers in South Euclid, Ohio. Before the game we had the possibility to shoot a team photo:

Weather started windy and within a few minutes there was a heavy rain shower.
Despite this we had a very good time, although it was not possible to win this game for the Tigers.

HEESCH | Rood-Wit W was vandaag de bovenliggende partij op bezoek bij HVCH. De gasten uit Sint Willebrord moesten echter genoegen nemen met een 1-1 gelijkspel en daar mocht de thuisploeg dus tevreden mee zijn.
Een snel genomen vrije trap leverde de voorsprong op voor de bezoekers. HVCH had het na de 0-1 lastig, maar bleef overeind. Toen de Heeschenaren meer controle kregen, maakten ze via Lars van Lee gelijk en was het weer een echte wedstrijd.

Alhoewel een echte wedstrijd, HVCH beperkte zich voornamelijk tot verdedigen en het geven van lange ballen. Rood-Wit W liet een aantal goede kansen liggen en kreeg eigenlijk te weinig met een punt. “Ik ben niet blij met het vertoonde spel, dat was ondermaats”, aldus HVCH-trainer Maarten van Vugt. “We hadden meer lef moeten tonen. Voetballend moet het volgende week zeker beter.”
